What is it and how do I test it? Have the beta installed.

Wondering if it’s like the XDR reference modes…

Curious about this too. I put the beta on my iPad but not my Mac. Wondering if I need to in order to test this as a sidecar feature.
you don't need to update your Mac.

You can turn it on under display settings. It definitely changes the brightness and white point of the screen. It even locks the brightness controls. You can have it on or off when connected via sidecar (im still on Monterey). But I don't know what "mode" it's setting it to. Perhaps all of the "modes" like on the XDR are not available yet, and we'll get that? If Apple would tell us what it was doing that would be nice.

Are you able to send and view HDR content to the iPad via SideCar? Like said the preview window in Final Cut? I'm hoping it lets you do something like that.

I see no way to select it in FCPx. I have it connected via sidecar.

I CAN do it in Resolve as a clean feed, but not an external device like a black magic Sdi card.

I can turn reference mode on and off on the iPad while still connected to sidecar.

I don’t think the mac controls that at all. I think it’s just like one of the reference modes on the XDR but there is no documentation.
