Hi,

I've thought long and hard about this and i really don't think it is possible, but i am sure someone here will confirm this straight away :)

My app has a free version and a $0.99 Pro version.

I'm trying to think if there is anyway that i can offer the Freebie users a free upgrade to the Pro version IF they refer two friends.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible in anyway, thanks in advance.

Make one version of your app and unlock the pro features with in-app purchase or after referral of two friends?

Hopefully you don't get a letter from Lodsys for implementing in-app purchase.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't sure if i had to run a Pro version OR additional feature version of an app (via in app purchases).

I'm sure Apple probably has constraints around this too, but i think it would be must easier to just add a flag to the user table, in order to flag their account as pro, so that they can use the additional features.

What's your opinion on this? Thanks in advance.

I guess the big question then is whether the user's data is stored in the cloud (and you just use the app to log in) or whether the data is stored on the device.

If I possibly could, i would just make one app. Then use a flag to determine whether the extra features have been unlocked.
