MP 1,1-5,1 rEFInd to force VTd

I need to use rEFInd to enable vtd for a Linux distro that was installed using MBR because I’m paranoid of secure boot certs.

As far as I know there’s no proper GUI implementation on the 5.1 using rEFInd right? Would it be possible to install and configure it to boot straight to a specific SSD with some boot parameters?

Only Microsoft is writing those certificates, so you should be fine on Linux. i am not sure what you mean by "enable vtd" ? Maybe this will be of help:

Yeah I’ve worked through the enable guides, unfortunately when you coldboot into an MBR based system you’re using the CSM for bootcamp to emulate a BIOS.

That emulation apparently only includes VT-d (a supported intel hardware feature) if you’re warm booting from MacOS. There’s a way to force VT-d on in rEFInd but everything I’ve ever read about it was that it would result in blind boot selection.

VT-d or IOMMU works fine on the 3,1 booted to Debian 10 in Legacy(MBR) mode.

Does this also fix the unbelievable slow performance inside virtual machines?
