My 27" iMac (2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo) needs a little spring cleaning. I have been thinking about reformatting the drive once the new OS comes out and starting from scratch.

At one point I installed XP using Parallels and I want to get rid of that partition and install of XP. I should have installed it via boot camp - my mistake. Once I reformat, I'll install Windows 7 via bootcamp.

Anyhow... my question is whether or not I'll be able to get rid of the partition and the XP install if I reformat my HD. Is there any recommended way to go about this?

Thanks for any input...

I would make a superduper clone on a low cost external hdd. I would boot with the superduper clone and call up disk utility program. I would tell the program to sevure erase the internal hdd with a zero overwrite then i would partion and reformat the internal drive the way i want.

You then have a complete empty drive. I would then install.

free superduper clone program below
