My ipod classic is formatted for PC. However, I bought a Mac and I'm using it exclusively with my Mac. How do I format the ipod such that it is in Mac format and the software can be updated? Will I lose playlists etc... if I change the format to Mac?

simply connect the ipod to the mac, open itunes and in the itunes preferences window, click restore. And yes you will lose everything you have placed on it-think of it like you are reformatting a hard drive and re-installing an OS-you lose everything on it and you will have to re-sync your ipod
