I know this is a laughable question but what are the chances of Apple doing refunds? I already know the answer is no, but when I think about buying software for a computer online, there have been numerous times where I have emailed support, stated that it did not do what I needed, etc and received a refund. I mean this honestly too, like what if you purchase a finance budget app and a day later a much much better one comes out? SOL right?

They'll take it back within 14 days. 10% restocking fee if you've opened it.
I think he's talking about buying apps for the iPhone not like boxed software like iLife. Or I could just be reading your post wrong, which is completely possible for me lol. To answer your question OP I'm pretty sure you're SOL if you buy an app you dont like. It's like buying an album or movie off iTunes.

ya i pressed buy by honest mistake... and bought a 2$ tennis thing... it looks like pong... just... what the hell... i should be allowed to gain my money back.

Yes I completely know what you mean about buying by mistake, I tried to open the Crash Bandicoot page to get more info and by accident clicked the buy button. Luckily it turns out its a pretty good game but I wish there was an option to just add the apps to the cart like songs so that you can verify the purchase.

Jeff.

Yeah, with that $2 you could have bought half of a Starbucks drink.

Some people will whine about ****ing anything.

You didn't have that "Are You Sure You Wanna Buy This" screen after you pressed buy?? I get that after everything I want to buy ex: albums movies

If you think $2 is nothing feel free to send me $2. I'll give you my paypal address.

I haven't tried it myself, but if you go to preferences >> store. You can click "Buy Using a Shopping Cart"

Funny you mention turning on that function. I know I had it turned on and with the new itunes download, it appears to have defaulted to "1-click"

Sounds like a slick, and shady move on Apple's part.

I would caution people to be careful, especially early on. Wait for reviews from others to see what is up.

You can see some programs are really worthless after seing the reviews from others.

Some people will take the bullet to be out front and on the cutting edge. If you are worried about the investment, I suggest you wait until others have tested the product.

ya i have that on? not working?

I agree. Or they should at least have demos available. I bought Enigmo and to tell you the truth, I think it's worth about $2........

I'm really surprised Apple hasn't made any sort of a free trial system available. There's no way to figure out the quality of the app, with the exception of screen shots; however, they can be deceiving.

I agree that there should be some kind of demo/trial period. Looking at ratings and reading reviews can definitely help, but in the end you're the only one who can tell if an app is worth it to you.

Really? Why? If you bought some software at Best Buy, put it on your machine and didn't like it, would Best Buy take it back? Not likely.

I've had at least five online retailers of software refund my money, only reason I was curious.

You can adjust your iTMS preferences in iTunes. The default is one click buying, so just change it to a shopping cart. This will give you a chance to cancel if you accidently hit buy.
