Refurb Canon Digital Rebel XT question

I'm thinking about purchasing the refurbished Canon camera shown here:

There are a few other places with similar deals at the moment, as well.

My question is this: I know I can trust Apple refurbs...the computer I'm at right now is one, and it's been nothing but good to me...are electronics stores generally as tenecious as far as quality-control goes? Is there a set of standards they must live up to, or is it more of a store-by-store basis? Further, has anyone had dealings with this store before, especially with their refurbs? Last, I'm planning on using this camera for photoshoots...what accessories should I look into getting?

Just check out their return policy- make sure you won't get stuck paying a huge fee if it's not what you expected.

Well it says it comes with manufacturer's warranty, but is it the full 1 or 2 year warranty, or just from the time it was first purchased?

Secondly, why would you buy a refurb for $599? Am I missing something? A new one from B&H goes for $649 after a $100 rebate.

Abstract: I hadn't seen that price...very strange, didn't seem to come up on pricegrabber. Maybe I just overlooked it?
I'll probably end up buying from B&H...any idea how long their rebates take to get sent out?
