So, with the new macbook update eventually on its way (hopefully Tuesday) the refurbs for the macbooks will become cheaper, does anyone know the deal with how much they will be? Is there a formula or anything? Also can you purchase a non-refurbed macbook after the update from apple or do they discontinue them?

The MBPs are 30-40% off so I would expect something similar. Maybe starting at $700 to $750. I don't know if you can purchase a non-refurbished MacBook from Apple after the updates. You could call 'em to find out.

Ok ok. Your probably right but I can hope can't I? It seems strange just how steeply the MBPs have been discounted doesn't it? The maxed out 15" is 37% off.
