Does anyone know if refurb iPhones with an IP rating still have one? This would also then apply to phones replaced under warranty, as you often get a refurb.

I wonder because at the point of refurb they would have been opened.

It’s always like to like. So they standby their products including any ratings.

Just upgraded my SE to a 7. The 7 is a refurb from Apple's site. I've previously purchased a 2015 MacBook refurb and several iPads as refurbs. I'm absolutely sold on Apple's Refurb products. They're solid, warrantied for a year and the pricing is quite good if you're willing to wait.

I would have no reason to doubt the efficacy of the IP rating on refurbs.

It’s a good question, yes, the seals are replaced upon opening if they replace the battery and display, which it still would retain it’s water resistant IP rating and one year warranty as well. It did not include the IP rating, then Apple would not be able to advertise and market a phone as they do under ‘tech specs’ with refurbished iPhones.
