What makes it even funnier is that Apple dropped the trade in values if everything pretty harsh this time around so wanting to trade that old MB for a new model just got way more expensive.

I’ve been watching the refurb and reseller market for deals for a while now. Best deal I’ve seen lately is $2449 at US Costco online for a 16” Pro MBP 10/16/16/1TB - $2699 at Apple. Not to mention the 4 years warranty coverage included for using their Visa card.

That was good enough for me. I’m now expecting.

Where are you seeing that low of a discount on the Apple Refurbished website? The base model 16" which retails for $2499 is on there for $2249, a savings of $250. When it's on there, the base model 14" is $1799, a savings of $200.

I've seen BTOs go for more than 10% off. But I guess the high demand of these devices is driving the price.
True, if memory serves I recall just a few years back that the refurbished price was at 15% off retail across the board. It was only recently where I was looking at the refurbished 14 and 16 models where I see the discount was apparently adjusted to 10%.

Thankfully the refurbished discount stacks with the veterans discount and I was able to snag a base 16” for $2006, a deal that can’t be beat.

Just the base model 16”, silver with 16/512. Perfect for my relatively basic needs. I got the 14” at Costco a few weeks back but as I used it I realized how much I would love a bigger screen. When they popped up recently on the refurbished site, it was too good of a deal to pass up. Costco has a pretty generous 90 return policy too so that makes it easy.

The only 16" refurb I see where you can save $150 is Core I7; all the M1 only list a savings of $50-70.
