Hey guys,

Just wanted your opinions. 128gb isn't going to cut it for me.

I could either get a new low end mbp (no touchbar) with the ssd upgrade or get a refurbished mbp w touch bar for the same price.

Obviously, the touch bar is kind of cool but not really what I'm interested in, I would more likely get that one for the added ports, the touch id, and the extra storage.

TLDR: What's more important? Upgraded processor or Ports+Touch Bar/TouchID?

U.K.
I'm also wondering this myself. The refurb with Touch Bar from 2016 is about exactly the same price as a 2017 nTB Macbook Pro with 256GB SSD and 16GB RAM on the education store.

Is the Touch Bar hard to live with? I primarily want to go back to the Mac for Xcode (and a smidgen of light gaming). I know that GPU performance will be about equal between the two; Iris Plus 640 vs 550. However I'll be taking a RAM hit with the 2016, but a higher CPU clock in trade.

What should I do?

With the better iPhone cameras, and lack of upgradability, I'm going to have to go with a 1TB model. My iPhoto library is almost 110GB already, and I hope this laptop will last 6-7 years.

But will be half the size with ios11 new file format. And from an investment point it makes less sense to buy now storage which u need in a couple of years cos prices fall.

Op: buy refurb. Touch ID alone is worth it
