Hi all,

I thought I'd share my experience of a refurb. I managed to get an 2.66 Imac with an ATI 256 card for 799. Quoted as 2GB RAM but turned up with 4GB!!! Is this unusual?

It's beautiful, perfect and looks like new. Only difference seems to be the packaging!

Just thought I'd share a great experience and ask about the memory.

Also, which Gen is it? I'm assuming it's the last model before the current one?

320Gb 2.66 20 inch

If you have a 10 inch iMac that would explain loads about how you got it so cheap.

Extra memory or bigger hd's are not uncommon. Someone custom orders a machine with the extras but then returns it. Apple eats the difference. That's the last gen. Current models have nVidia cards except special order top-end 24" ones with ATI 4850.

That's a great price, btw.

The extra RAM is usually referred to as winning the Apple refurb "lottery". Sometimes the machines show up with better hardware than what you ordered them with.

it also came with a remote control?

Is this also a bonus as i thought they didn't now??
