Curious what folks would recommend since these two are closely matched in price?

I want to upgrade my iMac at work from a 2008 Core Duo and either purchase a

1.) NEW iMac 21.5-inch 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 for $1,199.00

or,

2.) Refurbished iMac 21.5-inch 3.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor for $1,269.00

I have no qualms about buying a refurbished iMac since I own one at home and it runs great and shipped in excellent condition, and find I have yet to come close to storing more than 500 GB of storage for work files, and have plenty of external HD's to store files, videos, etc. I use iMovie, Aperture and MS Office for Mac, and run Parallels as well using primarily MS Publisher.

Thanks for any feedback !

The 2011 21.5" base iMac will absolutely hammer that 2010 model. The 2010 model is using a Clarkdale dual-core i5 680 3.6GHz (w/ hyper-threading) whilst the 2011 model is using the newer Sandy Bridge quad-core i5 2400S 2.5GHz (which turbo boosts up to 3.7GHz EDIT: 3.3GHz). The newer model also has a significantly better graphics card.

MythicFrost thank you! Your comments make it clear the new one is a no brainer, i.e. and costs less. Thanks.
