Refurbished iMac 27-inch 3.06GHz

Well, there'll probably be more of those showing up. Maybe even some i7s.
That's exactly what I am waiting for.
I've seen these on there for quite a few weeks already, they get sold out fast but updates quite frequently like the rest of the refurbs. I remember seeing the i5 ones too, anyone recall how much CAD they were? I will be selling my 24" iMac soon and planning on getting a quad core 27" one.
I wonder if the 24" with the gt 130 is a better deal then the 27" being pushed by a 4670. Sure the 27 has the magic mouse which is great but it has the smaller cordless keyboard. The gt130 is a 512 gpu vs the 4670 which is only a 256. Any comments on this? both come with snow kitty cat.
Can someone explain me the refurbished thing? I do know that it means that they update a computer, but which ones get updated? do they take pieces of old ones and put it in the new iMac 27?

I think Apple offers refurbished products in every online store but I haven't found one of the current iMacs in the german online store yet.
~$250 off, not too bad at all. Let's see what they do with the i7. Thinking of going to New Hampshire and using student discount + no tax for a good amount in savings. Not sure how much better a deal the refurb would be.
Quad core 27" failure
Just got top of line iMac Core 17, and intend to return it, not get it repaired, have no confidence as get kiss of death message, "hit power button" until shutdown, then hit it again. 20 seconds after apple appears, message reappears, grey windowshade descends. This after transferring data from 24", and so I erased hard drive, tried again, this time using Migration Assistant. Same result. Have to return machine, not willing to try another one at this time, will take refund instead.

I'd opt for the 512MB gpu as you'll get warnings in photoshop like this with lower GPU memory.
Hmmm, perhaps they have some i5's (or better yet i7's) in stock that they're thinking of putting there and needed a wider price gap for them to sell?
