I just got my refurbished iMac today, and damn I love it. I think I made the right choice, but there is only problem, I can't find iLife 08.. any where.

On the Leopard upgrade disk, the two OS X install disks.. nowhere, and the iLife on this isn't 08 (06 I'd guess, not sure).. anyone else be in this position?

Just want to make sure I'm not making a simple mistake before I call Apple tomorrow about it!

Edit- Also, there is a slight hum to my iMac. It's nothing major, it's audible whenever the iMac is on, is this normal?

Also, does Leopard include the 802.11n enabler, or if not when will the enabler be working for Leopard?

Thanks in advanced

Check what you bought again... I remember some refurb white iMacs don't have iLife 08, and it's not included in leopard or tiger...

I was about to buy ilife 08, but the reviews on the apple site were a mixed bag with the majority leaning towards staying with 06. I use ilife a lot and I'm quite happy with 06, so I'm staying put until I get a chance to give it some more time.

Well I'm 100% sure it said it would include iLife 08, so I'll call later, I don't mind iLife 06, but my brother really wants to try out the new garageband.

Man this hum is a bit too loud, I might have to lug it to orlando to get whatever' making it repaired. I think it's the fan, does this normally take long?

Do you have the new aluminum one or the last generation white one? My white one with the 17" screen has been dead quiet except when I burn a DVD. (expected DVD noise, nothing major at all). This iMac has been flawless.

Last gen, 17" white, yeah I figured.. the couple I was previously were around didn't make any audible noise.. so I must have a noisy fan somewhere.

Hopefully it's a quick repair, I hate to go so far and then have to go back, but I won't worry about it till I'm in the area.. going to call Apple about the iLife 08 now.

My iLife 08 was on my two disk set. I had to use it to get it back on when I did a wipe install of leopard. Just put disk 1 in, select "Extras" or whatever it was and soon it prompted to insert disk2.

I just ordered the same computer, and according to Apple's website these iMac's come with iLife '06. Never noticed that until I saw this thread. No biggie though, I had '08 and it wasn't that much better than the previous version. As a matter of fact, I preferred the older version of iPhoto. You might be able to purchase an '08 update disk for $10 on Apple's website.

Well Apple put the 17" iMac back up on the refurb site... and you're correct. It does indeed say the iMac comes bundled with iLife '08. Guess they never updated the page for the 20" White iMac. However, I would check the restore CD's because most of the time they are on them. If they aren't however, call Apple and ask them to send you a disk.
