Would this model still be a good buy for a new college student? It’s Amazon refurbished. Daughter is graduating high school and has always wanted one. My budget was only about 550. She’s worked very hard and is headed to college and a summer study abroad. I would love to snag it as a grad gift but I wanted to make sure it’ll last at least a couple years. MRE82LL

It will be fine for her but, I would spend a little extra and get the M1 Air (if you can). Long term, the M1 will be better. You can find it on sale most of the time for $799 brand new. A good used one in the 5-600 range.

Is there a specific model number I’d be looking for?

Ok thank you! It’s still out of the budget but I trust the other model should last at least a couple years! Thank you!
