So I've been geeking out about getting a Macbook for the last few weeks, but I've been holding off until school starts to make sure that tuition and whatnot doesn't break the bank.

Anyway, I've had my heart set on the $799 refurb Macbook as I just wanted something that I could drag along as well as load up multiple OSes on it. However today I noticed that most of the non-Pro Macbooks are gone from the refurb section of Apple's site. Is this a normal occurence or am I just out of luck? Or is this just some special Macworld deal?

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I searched around for a bit and found nothing, and I got a little panicky. :)

The Apple store refurb stock goes in and out of stock daily almost it seems. They can add, or run out of stock on any item at any time. The macbook C2D's should be showing up pretty soon.

Thanks for the quick reply. Guess I'll just cross my fingers and keep checking in. Maybe I'll wait for the Core 2 Duos to come in and see if they're the same price (as I'd guess) or see if the Core Duos go down in price (wishful thinking).

Check back every day. Be prepared to buy whenever you do because their stock can change by the moment.

I doubt the macbook refurbs are going to drop at all, seeing as the c2d macbooks came out not too long ago. So just get whatcha can.
