Hey this is my first post as I am planning to become a Mac user by purchasing a Macbook. Im planning to get a refurb and was wondering if theres any reason not to or something to be weary of. I mean I know the resale value will likely be lower but should I have any real concerns with the quality, warranty ect. Do you still get a year to opt for an apple care plan? Thanks in advance.

No worries at all. It will look brand new when you get it. Also, you still have the standard 12 month warranty and you can extend it to 3 years at anytime prior to the 12 month expiration.
I generally buy refurbs becuase they look new, but you pay the used price.

The long and short of it is that most people recommend refurbs if you need to save some money. They work out great for most people. I'm on a perfect black MacBook I bought refurb'ed for $999 right now, and it came with a free 1GB of RAM.
