Most of Apple's refurbs are sold on their website. Micro Center is clearing out brand new previous gen MBA's for a good price if you have a store in your town. MacMall also has some good deals on new previous gen MBA's.

Seems like 3 months to start seeing a recently refreshed mac start popping up on the refurb page. I've watched it pretty closely through the years, Imacs always seem to have the shortest time from refresh to regularly showing up, and I'm guessing the Imac is one of the best selling machines.

I was planning on scouting for one after the Christmas holiday.

What does Apple do with returned Macs? I had the wake-from-sleep issue on my then 3-day old MacBook Air and returned it. Now I see Apple released a firmware update that supposedly fixed it. Will Apple sell the one I returned as new, or will it wind up on their website as a refurbished unit? If it's the latter, 6 months seems a long time for it to sit unsold in a warehouse somewhere.
