refurbished w/ education discount?

I want to get a refurbished MacBook Pro for college and I was wondering if I could use my education discount too? I was gonna get an iBook....then a Macbook....now I really want the MBP....i cant make up my mind....

The education discount cannot be used with the refurb prices. But, you can get the education discount price on Applecare to go with it. IT will save you a bit of money, but not as muc as I expect you were hoping for.

ah crap....oh well. $1700 isnt a bad price....ill just have to save up some extra money thats all
