Reg.Cheap Applecare for macbook IN UK

Could any one suggest me where can i buy applecare (macbook) for the cheapest .thanks in advance

I don't know how accurate this is, but I was considering purchasing Applecare from Ebay (US) as there's some great deals going on there. I rang Applecare UK and explained where I was looking to buy it from. The rep went away and checked and then explained that because the MacBook Pro is a portable product, it's covered worldwide but because the Applecare was purchased in the US, I would need to register it to an address in the US but Applecare would honour it here in the UK.

I'm not sure if this is correct as I don't know if Apple can tell if a particular agreement number was destined for a specific country, but I'd advise you ring and check yourself just in case.

It could have been that they just weren't sure and gave me that advice to keep themselves right.

Do keep in mind that according to EU law you are entitled to more than the standard 1 year warranty. So Applecare is a bit of a rip-off in Europe. There is a thread about this on these forums.

I bought AppleCare from the US, from a MacRumors member. I got it for like £100. I registered it online (worked fine). It said online that they would send me a certificate of AppleCare in a few weeks. I still have not received anything!!!

I got the same problem too, here in Aus.. could it be some human checked and realised we tried to get US service contracts for out of US machines?

Well, I hope Apple isn't gonna try n start some crap! I bought Applecare, it should not matter where I got it from!!!

It is gonna suck a year down the road when you bring it for servicing and the guy tells you "Sorry, your Applecare is null and void!"

I wouldn't worry about that, I've registered about 3 computers with Applecare and I'm apparently meant to receive a certificate for each one. Never recieved a single one

As long as Apple confirm Applecare on your system, you're sorted
