I sent an email to the business specialist at my local store...notifying him to go ahead and order a BTO 11.6, 4 GB, 128 GB Air.

He replied a short while later, with this:

Luckily, we can fulfill all these items in store, and we can have it ready in about 1 day after we receive the PO. In addition to the 4 standard MacBook Air configurations, they gave us special in-store parts for the high end 11" and high end 13"! This will save us from having to configure and ship it.

So....there you have it, at least at my nearby Apple store. And I can pick it up in the morning....

it sounds like they just have the highest 11" and 13" configurations in stock. Does your model also have the 1.6GHz CPU?

Sounds fishy

It does, in a sense. I sent the email around 4, and he replied back in 15 minutes.

To have it by tomorrow....beats me. I'm not giving it too much thought, because this person has never crossed me or whatnot. But he could not have ordered it until 4 this afternoon...and to have it by the morning? If what I ordered is a BTO, yet they can fulfill it within the store....

yah i thought so. i heard about stores now carrying the high end models for both 11" and 13", so that's probably what you're getting. I doubt they are stocking parts to do upgrades in the store (EX: upgrading the low end 11" to 4GB).
