iPod Regarding wireless iPod

Ok i look around this site all the time while i am at school, just never had the urge to post. anywho

I just was on a plane from MA to AZ and then back home so i was wondering, they say on the flights that electronics can be used as long as there is no wireless activity coming out of it. like you have to turn off your airport card if you want to use computer, hence why pagers and cell phones are not allowed on during flight. but i was wondering when/if apple makes the iPods wireless, is there going to be a function to turn off the wireless/bluetooth so that it wont cause a catastrophe from interfering with the planes equipment. i just made a feedback email to apple about this and i urge others to do the same, just to stop something horrible from happening. if it could happen.

Most of the concerns with wireless interference are liekly overblown. your cell phon isn't going to take down a plane. The bigger problem is probably for the wireless carriers since you'd be flying through cell zones so quickly. The ban of them on flights is probably more of just being extra safe than a real concern based on any evidence.

As for an iPod, if it gets the bluetooth connectivity, I doubt that will be a problem. It probably just won't be on unless it finds a device to connect to. I'm sure apple and every other manufacturer will take this into consideration.

This whole thing may be moot, though, as the FAA is considering lifting the ban on some restricted wireless devices. And if that's the case, someone's iPod will be the least of my concerns... it means I'll be stuck in an aluminum tube with people on personal cellphone calls for hours....

yeah i was on AA for the flight and you can use cell phones while on the ground still but not during the flight at all, and you can't use any electronics during take-off or landing
