A simple question, I appologize if this has been posted before, I did a search and didn't find anything...

I am currently living in the UK and have recently bought a DVD here that is encoded in region 2 PAL, and I was wondering if it would even play in my Mac when I get back to the states... I cannot test it, as I do not have my Mac here with me. If not, what would I need to get it to work?

Thnaks in advance.

Use VLC it will play any region DVD's. It works very well for me and my region 1 (ntsc) collection of DVD's on my region 2 drive.

if you use idvd it lets you switch like 5 or 7 times between regions before it is set.

do go all around this issue you could use mactheripper and reset the region code while backing up/copying your dvd.

You could use Mac the Ripper to rip it to your hard drive while removing the Region restriction. The downside is that you'll chew up to 9.7GB worth of space on your HD.
