is there a Software similar to AnyDVD on the PC to make the DVD drive in a MBP region free??

I remember seeing something somewhere once for an iBook... but it involved flashing firmware of the SuperDrive, which invalidates the warranty. So I shyed away.

DVD region coding is evil and it sucks.

Nope, it depends on the drive your Macbook uses, some older models have drives from Matshita (sp?) which uses encrypted firmwares, so they can't be cracked even if you want to.

The newer ones are said to have less restrictive drive, though I can't personally confirm that in my experiences.
