Hi

I have compared my Iphone mini 12 and regular non-pro 15 photos.

I mainly take photos of the amplifiers which involes a lot of mixed colors like black, white and texts, and that is there reason I use Iphone, because Samsung was overprocessing text a lot and adding huge black outline and Huawei was darker/smoother as far as I remember.

Now I have a problem, generally new picutures have more details but when it comes to text or any kind of higlights, it gets blurry the further you go from center, though not always. Simply Iphone 12 picture looks consistent while 15 is sharp in the center and not so much outside.
I tried taking pictures both with manual focus (putting a finger on some area) or default (just taking the picture once app is opened)

This problem is also there when I move quite far away and crop the image.
It has kind of ghosting effect or something like astigmatism (I actually do have that problem).

So I took photos with the 3s delayed shutter as it seems to produce unprocessed photos as I wondered if the raw picture has the same problem, that problem is still there.

Now I wonder, is my lens/iphone 15 defective or is it normal? I would like to check with other users before confronting support, as sometimes I had mixed experience with them.

this is the actual comparison from which I made this summary image

another one (not considered in the photo which I have attached to this post)

so generally it is able to take better zoomed pictures and macro as 12 is less detailed
hdr is better, maybe too warm/smeared but still it is closer to real life
12 is oversharpening and much noisier, but that oversharpening and noise sometimes is showing more real texture
I mean this amplifier has grainy black pannel, is not as smooth as we can see on 15 pictures, but also not as noisy as on 12

Over sharpening with 13 series, now blurring with 15 series. Way to go Apple.

Can we go back to iPhone 10-11 picture quality?

I have noticed one thing that it seems it is blurred diagonally. Going to check with apple service, though over call they were a little bit reluctant asking why I didnt get DSLR etc. I mean, I could get also 100$ phone and it would also work, right, so I guess I can have a bit of expectations. When I rotate phone I get different results basically (though it is hard to do exactly the same photo). For nature photos thats not a big problem but anything with text, light, high contrast...it is worse than 12 sometimes. Though 12 is oversharpening, though in a quite natural way.

In this comparison I have used 12mpx mode on both phones. The more resultion you bring the more apparent issue is due to sharp and blurry areas contrast. I can apply sharpening, so blurry areas will become more like 12, but then sharp areas will be oversharpened. Meh.
