I have a problem with Notes not opening - just crashes and closes within a few seconds.

If I Command+R on boot, and restore the OS, will it just overwrite system files??
All my apps/settings and data etc should remain intact???

I'll take a backup beforehand of course, but just wanted to be sure of what to expect!

Thanks

If by restoring you mean going to Recovery mode->Reinstall OS - yes, this way you'll reinstall system-related settings/apps only. You'd loose current data by erasing volumes, disks in Disk Utility or by restoring from Time Machine (it may replace the current version of a file with the one from backup)
