If I buy the Mac Book Air with the SSD, is it possible for the user to replace the SSD with a HDD? For example, if I need more than 64GB, I'd like to be able to make the change myself.

Asked and answered several times- yes.

However, if you are concerned about it, why not get the 80 GB HDD now and upgrade to a bigger SSD later when they get bigger and cheaper?
