iOS release iphone app for others

hi,

I work a software house, which just had a few apps released on the appstore. And recently, some other companies reached us and wished to deploy some apps for them. But the problem is all those apps we released have the name of our company when displayed in the appstore.

Just wonder, if we might possibly change that field, and filled it with the company name of some others?

What you need to do in this case is have the client set up their own iPhone developer account (they will need to pay for this). They can add members of your team to their account as team members and give you a development certificate specifically for use in their apps.

You can then hand off the final build and they can submit it to the app store themselves. This means the contract is between them and Apple and they get paid directly for royalties.

You cannot change the company name field on a particular app yourself, since the app is signed by your distributor certificate, not that other company's.

Either you can talk someone at the company through the process of paying the $99, creating and downloading their company's certificates, then forwarding a team member cert to you for use. Or you can get written authorization (a legal contract allowing you to accept the terms for them) from the company, as well as access to a company email account, and do it for them (including paying their $99). Then all their apps in the store can be submitted under their developer account and company name, and not yours.

Only Apple can transfer an app from you to another company. You will have to keep calling and emailing until they eventually respond (which reportedly does not seem to be prompt for some people).
