My iBook's logic board recently went and rather then shelling out the $500 or so it would take to replace it, I've decided to sell it for scraps and get what I can for it. Anyway, i'm looking at buying a Macbook, but i'm eager to wait to buy one that ships with Leopard. Does anyone speculate if around the release of Leopard there will be new Macbooks? Going by the buyers guide it seems the Macbook is mid-cycle so....

Macbooks will be updated with Santa Rosa in May-June.

you never know. the santa rosa platform might make its way into the macbook pro line first and wait a bit for it to trickle down to the macbook line. a may-june santa rosa update is highly speculative and shouldn't be taken to be a statement of fact.

Well the MB went Core-2 a week after the MBP did, I'd imagine as long as supplies were available the MB would go to Santa Rosa shortly after the MBP.

How much of a change for the Santa Rosa chipset is there? Any change in method of cooling? Would it be considered a Rev A?

The chipset will be "built" to work with the Merom CPU and will also have a slightly faster FSB, and also wireless N built into it. I don't think there will be much of a change.

It would go back to rev a again right?

To make a lot of you guys feel better about your macbook and macbook pros you just bought, apple rev a products blow. Sure there are some good rev a's out there but with every rev A product I've had from Apple, always had problems. Example would be the 12" Powerbook G4. The thing has warped so bad cause of heat I can't use it anymore.

So if you just bought your macbook and/or macbook pro C2D, most of the bugs and problems have been worked out.

Almost every revision seems to have a problem that is specific to that iteration. Anyone remember the screen line issue on the last Rev of the PowerBooks? Point is if it suits your needs buy it. If there is an issue call apple or go to their store. In most of the cases they will help you out and get it taken care of. I have a Rev A MacBook. I had an issue with the DVD burner and apple got it replaced and since then I've been happy with it. Actually it's been the best Mac I've ever owned.

I haven't been affected with the latest talk with the macbook pro LCD. Mine is flawless and pretty happy with this Mac. Actually after owning this macbook makes me want to go buy a mac pro.
