I can no longer trust App Store reviews.

My simple question (though the answer can be lengthy) is whether Vicinity is reliable.

There are some reviews which mark it amazing, but there are other reviews which say it is out of date. One noting that a certain point of interest was gone twelve years ago!

Is this a simple bug in the program or what?

I imagine it comes down to the validity of the data in the dBs that Vicinity queries, which it probably has no control over as they are maintained by institutions. That said, I've used it a couple of times and had only one "failure" to find what I was looking for. Given the times it has worked for me, I am more tban happy I have it, though I sometimes wish the categories it offers info on were broader.

Not sure where they get their data from but seems to be ok'ish but with a reasonable amount of stuff out of date (e.g. pub round the corner that closed and re-opened under a different name 2 years ago, big tesco metro round the corner that has been there for years doesnt come up).

Biggest issue for me is the fact it crashes. A lot. Wish I could get a refund on it.
