i used to do this all the time; right-click a tab in safari, and click on 'reload all tabs'...no longer an option (or...was that a feature in Glims?). just curious...miss that....

Oh yeah, I used to use that all the time also and only had a standard Safari build. Weird they've got rid of it, bug or 'feature' I wonder.

sad, really. why remove it? i keep about 8 tabs open in a window that i visit regularly (like this forum), and periodically refreshed all those tabs. now it's 8 individual moves to do the same thing...

I've reported it using the feedback assistant app. If you haven't done so, perhaps you can also. You never know, if enough people do they might re-instate it (assuming it's not a bug).

reported it some time ago...can't imagine why it's been removed (and am not holding my breath to see it reinstated). we need Glims back!

ugh not there in the GM. what's the point of removing this? was great to be able to refresh a window of pages in one step... :(

I didn't even know this was a feature haha. With pinned tabs I want this more than ever.

Seeing as this will probably never be added back by apple and the premise seemed simple enough I made a SIMBL Plugin that adds this functionality back.

Download

It adds the functionality back in 3 ways:
  1. Right clicking a tab now has the option to reload all tabs
  2. The Window menubar item has a reload all tabs option added
  3. Command + Shift + X will reload all tabs

Well there is an extension to manage saved tabs. I used to use one before and just added this one yesterday on El Capitan but haven't tried it out yet. Might be worth exploring with the feature removed.

i installed easysimbl, added your plugin. but i can't enable simbl (from easysimbl); i tried disabling SIP, but 'enable' does not 'stick'. how did you get this working in el capitan? thanx..!

EasySIMBL doesn't really do anything anymore. The original SIMBL does work though.

You can use this SIMBL installer for El Capitan: https://github.com/w0lfschild/SIMBLPlugins/tree/master/SIMBLInstaller

To successfully work SIP needs to be off but after you've run the installer you can turn SIP back on.

Once you've run the installer place safariSoda at /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins Then restart Safari.

Installed this extension and I ca\n't figure out how to use it. Not in the contextual menu when right clicking and not in the menu bar of safari.
Am I missing something or is this not useable on OS 10.11

Maybe your toolbar is full. Right-click on your toolbar and select customise.

make sure it's enabled in the extensions window (it works here)...

It went blank in my Safari menu and when I tried to reinstall it, I got this......It looks like it's been pulled or deactivated.

odd. i just got a new macbook pro (2 weeks ago), and installed the extension. quit safari, re-download, try again?

EDIT: just tried to download, and it stalls here too. seems the developer's site is down. pm me & i'll send it to you...

Thanks for the reply. I would like the DL but can't see where to PM you.

I'm wondering if Apple is going to reintroduce the feature in an update?

my own feeling is...if apple hasn't brought it back by now, they're not going to. i'll PM you in a sec...
