Remeber Rumors about IBM wanting to use appler server?

I remember i rumors i read on this website that IBM agreed to make the 970 if IBM could use the apple server software.

I even thought this was insane and everyone argued that Apple were a hardware company primarily so it wouldnt happen. Also they said that IBM use Linux/ AIX.....but for how much longer

this article shows there are cracks in the relationship between IBM and the open-source world.

could this have been IBMs plan B, use Apple's UNIX based server, or just wichful thinking?
