Looking at Apple's support discussion forum, it's staggering how awful they have become. Back in the day, they had (non Apple) posters with thousands upon thousands of posts, seemingly doing nothing with their time but helping people. Many times they helped me out of difficult jams.

Today, there is a seemingly endless number of posts in the Apple discussion forums with zero replies. Post after post after post with pleas for help but nothing arrives.

I think Apple intentionally ruined the forums because there were *many* high profile incidents where media reports linked back to these forums to show how severe a problem was (such as early Time Capsule failures; hundreds of posts on a thread with that topic). Today there's nothing to see in these forums as they are a shell of their former self.

Too bad. Used to be extremely helpful.

It's because of their censorship of anything but happy-happy responses. Apple *really* hates any criticism at all from their users.

On a side note, I still remember the day in late 2007 when Jobs announced a $200 price cut on the first iPhone... just a few months after many had bought theirs.

Wow, it was an online riot. Apple mods were deleting hundreds of angry posts as soon as they saw them... until it grew so large, they couldn't keep up, and shut down all posting.
