Who remembers Power Pete? Nanosaur (1)? Budgom (1)? Cro-Mag Rally (not that old, but still)?
I remember on my family's first computer, a Performa bought in 1994 running 7.6. It had Power Pete on it, which always seemed mystical to me. I was never able to play it, being far too terrible at it; however, my sister excelled at the game. When she wasn't screaming at me to go away (she was 4 years older than me), I loved to watch her play it. She ended up beating the game on hard. It was quite a site to see the end credits after all that trouble.
Budgom came installed on an iBook G3 that the School District gave to my mom, along with Nanosaur and Cro-Mag Rally. I ended up beating Bugdom, after my sister did, though I didn't recover all of the ladybugs and I don't think I got all of the blue and gold clovers. My sister tried to beat Nanosaur once when we were on vacation and finished when we came home; that was a stressful game, since you only had 20 minutes to do it. In truth, she only beat it because a friend of mine told me a cheat to get 999 of every weapon (You go to the hill/mountain thing in the very beginning with the square top and the health thing; do a double jump up there and you also get full jet fuel). Then came Cro-Mag Rally. I know it's not that old, but I played it on and off for years on practice; finally I tried tournament and managed to unlock the final three levels in February of either 2007/2008. I have yet to beat the game.
