iPhone Reminder app, Apple...help.

I set up a reminder to take the garbage out today and I put in a repeat for every week. That is what I have in the Apple reminder app per this discussion.

NOW At 1:00 today when the reminder goes off as that is the time I set it for, I will then have two choices as far as I can see:

1. delete the reminder entirely

or.

2. dont delete it and live with the red 1 on the app on home screen for a week, live with it being open sort of inside the reminder app for the entire week, all in red...

i.e. I dont see how to keep the reminder as a repeat but have the app itself NOT have the red 1 and so on.

Anyone?

3. You mark the the reminder "Completed" and it respawns itself with the same reminder for next week. The red number indicator disappears (for this reminder) until the new one is due.

Thanks, will try this.

Unless you do it right when it comes up you cant mark it completed...i often dont look at it until after the initial popup on my phone
