Reminder notifier App questions

If anyone's using this application from Cydia i wanted to know if you could get the sounds for mail, message...working besides the defaults. I know i have to put them in a certain /var/... folder but once there i could hear them and select them but they just don't play when a text or email comes through, it could be a minor settings that i'm missing. Thanks for any help or comments.

If you are using any themes, then ssh in to the themes section and look for a folder called UISounds in the themes folder you are using. Create the sounds that you want in iTunes using the .aiff extension. Once your new sound is created, drag it to your desktop and rename the extension to .caf and make sure the first part of the rename duplicates the one you want to replace in the UISound folder.

The UISound folder in themes overrides any of the stock sounds and this way you do not mess with the stock set ups.

I do have a theme but is not a complete one and it doesn't comes with sms themes or sounds of its own. Im talking about an applciation called Reminder or Notifier which has or its suppose to have the ability to replace the default sounds or alerts. I was able to create my own and put them under the "Notifier" app sounds but they just wont play.
Thanks a lot for your reponse but im basically looking for help using the custom alerts via the Notifier app.

I totally understand...and what I am trying to tell you is how to do it in even a more simple way.

If your theme does not have a UISound folder then create a folder and Name it UISounds Put your alert sounds in it and drop it into the the theme you are using. It will then over ride the iPhone defaults for those alerts.

What is not known here is what exact sounds do you want to replace so that each alert you drop in has the correct name.

For example: In my UISounds folder I have:

RecievedMessage.caf
sms-received1.caf
new-mail.caf
Voicemail.caf

and about 10 other sounds that deal with lock/unlock, the keyboard sounds and others.

You can create any UISound folder you desire and do not need to mess with the file system within the program and screw it up. This route allows you to override the defaults.

Got it, so i would have to go under my theme and create the UI folder, then simply enter the corresponding names for the alert that im trying to replace...thanks for the list you just entered. I have replaced (not under the theme UI) the new-mail.caf, sms-received3.caf... But i rather go to the themes instead of messing with the originals. My question is how will i select the sms alert.. do i have to go to sounds>new text message and select some of the ones listed right... glass, horn.. but then the phone will replace that with whatever custom sms-received(x).caf i placed under the UI folder? Thanks a lot for your explanation and patience.

Nope...thats the beauty of it...you do NOT have to select anything in the sounds. The folder that you put in your theme that you are using overrides the stock sounds. No changes need to be made in settings.
