I have somewhat belatedly recently updated my iPhone to iOS 13. On opening Reminders, I was expecting to be given the option to upgrade. I seem to remember reading about this when iOS 13 was released and reading that I shouldn’t do so since I have an iPad on iOS 12, a Mac on High Sierra and a Mac on El Capitan which would no longer sync. And when someone who was sharing a list with me updated to iOS 13, my devices (including my iPhone which was then on iOS 12) no longer synced with that list.

On opening Reminders for the first time today since upgrading I wasn’t given any option and it seems like changes are syncing to all my devices.

Did something change in the way Reminders is operating between the initial release of iOS 13 and now?

This other person on same Apple ID as you? If so, and they said "yes" to upgrading to new Reminders, then you are upgraded and won't see the option.

No, separate Apple IDs. And I don’t think I’m upgraded as I can see items added on iOS 13 on the other devices (iOS 12, High Sierra and El Capitan).

EDIT: I’m definitely not upgraded. I’ve just noticed an upgrade button above my lists.
