Do Reminders only work with the iCloud calendar?

I want to use Reminders but I'm syncing my calendar with Google...will I still be able to?

From what I've experienced, it may look like the iPhone's Reminders are syncing to Google (via the Exchange protocol), but there is no way to view them in Google Calendar (they don't sync to the Task List).

Another reminders question i have. Say for example i am at home and want to set up a reminder for when reach a certain location. Am i right in saying that the location's address of where i want to set up the geo fence has to be in my contacts/address book?

It seems that way....if its not limited to that, I haven't found the option to change it. Hope they allow manual addresses with the next update.

So do you recommend using iCloud's calendar?

I really wish Reminders was baked into Lion so I could enter info in on my Macbook, like I do with Evernote, and then have it on my iPhone & iPad as well.
Can't believe the dev team left Lion out of the mix.

So if you have an iPad without 3G the choice to set at a location is not available right? Just making sure, when I click on a reminder on the iPad it only gives you a On a Day option and no location. Makes sense, just making sure!
