Reminders in Notification Center?

Howdy Yall, first time posting but long time lurker. I thought I understood that reminders were supposed to show up on lockscreen and notification center, as the options indicate but currently my notification center only shows weather and a single recurring calendar event (with alarm) I have scheduled. It would be nice if it would show the reminders I have created so I can see them with a quick swipe down rather than having to go into the app. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Did you put input a due date with a time in the near future?

I thought I did but apparently not. Any clue of the time frame in which the reminder will begin to appear? Somewhat annoying to have to set a specific date and time for every reminder in order for it to show up but those are semantics I guess! Next request: floating reminders!

I don't know about reminders, but calendar events show up 1-2 days before the event.
