I've set up a *daily* reminder on my iPhone. It transferred successfully to my watch. I shut down my iPhone. It's usually off as I rarely use it.

At the right time, the alarm sounded on my watch and the reminder appeared on the screen. Fine! Thought all was working.

Next day, the reminder did not sound or appear. Yet, when I look in the Reminders app on the watch, there it sits -- along with tomorrow's reminder -- and the right time listed.

Any idea of what's going on? Or, how to trouble-shoot this?

The reminder is scheduled for 7:30 am, well outside of my do not disturb period, so that's not it.

Note: This is an Apple Watch 7, under iOS 8.8.1, paired to an iPhone SE 2016, under its latest iOS... 15.8.3. Things are working fine on the iPhone. When I turned on the phone at 9:30 am today, yesterday's AND today's reminders pop up -- and an alert sounds. Who knows, though, which reminder the alert was for as both were in the past?! 😀

Can you set your reminder up on the watch vs the phone?

JZ, appreciate your response! Alas, in Watch OS 8.8, you cannot set a time and day for a reminder! So, a repeating reminder has to be set on the iPhone.

A new data point. The failure to sound the alert and pop-up the reminder keeps recurring. However, it seems that after the watch and iPhone are connected at any point, on any given day and time, then the next reminder will sound and appear on the watch -- even if the iPhone is shut down. However, that only works one time!

As noted, the watch still shows the upcoming reminder, with its name, date, and time, it just doesn't work!

Any other suggestions -- either from JZ or anyone else?

_______________

P.S. One other frustrating thing is that completed alerts remain on the watch -- accumulating. Given this is a daily reminder, it means a massive number of needless done reminders pile up. I'm sure they don't take much room, but it seems a waste of space!

Any fixes for that?
