Hi,
I have a iPad pro 2020 and I want to remote control my Mac trough it in a good way, any recommended software for it?
I have the Microsoft Remote application for my Windows Servers and it works perfectly so I'm wondering if it's something similar for Mac?

I like to use Chrome Remote Desktop. It works without any major issues.

You want a vnc client for your iPad. Activate the built in screen sharing in system prefs and hey presto.

This one looks good:

I've used Screens for years. It works well and also now fully supports a trackpad when used with the iPad.
I have been looking at screens also but I can’t find a free try version only the pay version

I also use Screens, and regularly remote my Mini up in the office.

One caveat - I only do LAN-based remote control, personally. Screens can do control over the internet, but it isn’t something I have ever felt the need for so didn’t do the associated set up.

I do use Screens over the internet using the Screens Connect functionality. It's easy to set up and also works well. There's also a Screens Express option where a user can run the application and then send a link to share their Mac screen as is commonly done when doing technical support.

Did you need to set up an account specifically with the app developers to enable that?
You do need a Screens Connect sign in to use that feature. I've not used the Screens Express functionality.

I’m looking to do this now but unfortunately Chrome Remote Desktop does not support waking an Apple MacOS machine from sleep which is a shame as otherwise it looks very capable for a free app.

Did you ever find an app that wakes from sleep?

Also all the other ones suggested above any idea if they work when not on the same network?

Screens will wake a Mac from sleep (at least on the same network it will - don’t use it remotely). I regularly wake my Mac Mini this way.

Jump Desktop is one of the best remote solutions available for the iPad. Especially if you utilize their streamer app (Fluid Protocol). Use it EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
