Ok, I have 2 powerbooks in my network and one Apple 20" screen.

The screen is connected to PB #1 and I would like to manage PB #2 from the same main screen.

Is that possible with Remote desktop? or how do I do it without getting a DVI switcher.

I just want to control the entire PB #2 when ever I want in a very simple manner using my actual network.

Yes, possible.

Here is one example of how I use it:
I have two Macs.. the primary Mac holds all my music etc.. and is located in my studio. The other Mac, a laptop, is usually in the living room. Music is played from the desktop in the studio out to the living room via airport express. I then use Remote desktop to control iTunes on the Mac in the studio.

Yes but how do i set it up?

You will need to boot the "headless" Mac with a monitor so that Remote desktop can be turned on. Once you boot it go to the system preferences and look under Sharing. You should see Remote Desktop as one of the items under sharing (all Macs have the client application installed). After you turn that feature on you can then remove the monitor and then use the Application Remote desktop to control the "headless" Mac... the Application portion is the part you have to buy and install.

Hmm..... thank you. Well, the application cost about $200, but lets see. :)

I use it for a lot more then just controlling iTunes.. plus the edu price, which I quality for was $149. I really wish they would lower the price on it, say 100 bucks or so. It is a really nice piece of software.
