Remote Keyboard for iOS5

I came back to the iPhone with the 4S, after using two Android phones between now and my 3GS. Something I am finding I really miss is the ability to remote type onto my phone via my computer keyboard. This was easy to setup and do on Android, but I am not finding a solution on iOS.

There are tons of apps for remote controlling other things via the iPhone, but from what I can tell the only way to do the reverse is jailbreaking, which I am disinclined to do, at least until it is buttery smooth on iOS5.

Any chance someone can show me I am wrong? A fair amount of searching has so far been fruitless.

Something I thought might work is some sort of Bluetooth emulation software, so my computer can emulate a BT keyboard, but no luck there either.

All you need is a Bluetooth keyboard, then go to Settings> General> Bluetooth and add that keyboard to your iDevice.

It sounds like you're asking about how to use your PC's keyboard (which I presume is wired, or perhaps you have a laptop and it's integrated.) In which case, no, there's no way to use that keyboard to input text on the iPhone.

However, as saving107 says, you can certainly pair a bluetooth keyboard with the iPhone and use that.

Right, I have that down. I am looking for the ability to type from my computer, so I don't have to have a BT keyboard in addition to my normal keyboard.

The way it worked on Android was via the program Wi-Fi Keyboard. You'd run the program, setting it as the active keyboard, and it'd give you an IP address. You go to that address in your browser, and it'd provide a text window you could type into, which would be sent to the phone.

It was amazingly handy. No extra keyboard required.

I know this specific method isn't going to work with iOS, but I was hoping something existed out there that achieved similar results.

Oh, I have searched quite a bit, and came up empty, but you never know when perhaps you aren't using just the right search term, and someone else might have the answer you can't find!

I do have a BT keyboard I can pair with it, but only in one location, and only for one device at a time, and having a second keyboard around is suboptimal.
