This is a remote 2010 MBA running Mavericks to which I connect via Chrome Remote Desktop or SSH.

When I connected this morning I noticed the battery percentage was only 47%. The Menu Bar battery tool shows:

When I logged in an hour later the battery was down to 42%.

I know that I need to reset the SMC, but I can't do that remotely.

Is there anything I can do from here or do I just wait until I visit the site late next week?

The battery was replaced by me a couple of years ago and has been fine (usually around 99%) ever since then.

Well, I’m at the site of that MBA now. When I got here the battery was down to 14% and still not charging. And, the machine was really hot. First attempt to reset the SMC failed. But, after the second the battery is again charging.
