Hi,

I currently have a mac mini running the OSX server app, and have a bunch of mounted drives connected. These are then accessed by various iMacs in an office, connecting (and mounting the sharepoints) onto the machines locally within one office.

What is the best approach to do the same, but remotely from a Macbook when one of us isn't in the office, but still needs to connect to the sharepoints?

We have a static IP, so there's no problem there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
E

Is it as simple as setting up a VPN and then connecting to it? Do you/anyone know of any good guides for this kind of setup? Thanks!

Thanks for the link! Do I need a specific host name? Or can I just put the servers public IP address? It doesn't seem to want to work.

I also realise this is deviating kind of off-topic, but kind of not also.

Thanks

I used https://www.duckdns.org/ to setup a hostname is fairly simple to setup, create an account and setup a small script and add a crontab on your Mac. You can find some easier dns sites to setup but they normally are not free. A popular one is http://dyn.com/dns/
