Hi all,

I am new to the mac os. just learning and experimenting at the moment with diff techs.

I am trying to remote into with full control of the macbook pro os x lion using windows vnc viewer.

settings on the os x lion:

remote management enabled with all 3 computer settings checked and password. allowed access for all users.

- tried using tight vnc viewer, i was able to connect, however i am unable to proceed any more after the mac login screen...unable to type anything.

would you please help. thank you much.

I use TeamViewer, which works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Ubuntu, iPhone, iPad, etc. It's very secure and quite simple to set up and use (no messing around with ports), which comes in handy if providing remote support to those who aren't very computer literate. You can talk them through the setup on their end and be connected to them in less than a minute. It's also free for personal use. I prefer it over LogMeIn because it includes free file transfers between computers, a feature I use frequently.

well, the thing is( from my understanding), mac os x already has vnc enabled and i do not need to install any additional software/apps on it.

in the case of teamviewer, the user must install this client on their mac ...and install teamviewer on the windows as well.

i like to stick to my original that requires no additional installation on the mac os desktop.
