Is there a way to remotely access a usb device (in this case an ipad) over ethernet/ip? Here is the setup:

1: mac mini setup as OS X Mavericks Server (with a static ip)
2. mac mini stored in a lab environment 5 floors away (no physical access for usb unless I actually go down to the lab)
3. able to remotely connect to the mac mini from my workstation (windows 8.1) either via vnc or logmein

What I would like to do is be able to connect the iPad to my computer (win 8.1 workstation) and be able for the mac mini to be able to remotely connect to it and have xcode see it.

Is this possible?
