Hi,

Just found out that the Apple Remote doesn't do volume - bummer! My setup requires this, as I have hooked up the Apple TV to a computer Monitor (without remote control or speakers), and external PC type speakers (with manual volume control). This is a great setup for the kitchen.

So, question: if I got the Logitect Harmony 1000 remote to include volume control in the system, will this work? It will need to adjust the volume in the Apple TV since this is the only place there is a remote control option.

Best thing would be a hack or something that enabled volume controlling in the Apple Remote. I'd hate to have to have a full blown remote in the kitchen setup.

Thanks for any help.

There's no volume control functionality built into the :apple:TV, so no remote is going to do what you want. Apple's philosophy seems to be to make the :apple:TV a source, like a VCR or DVD player, neither of which typically have volume control built in either. Sorry.
