Remove Apple ID on Mac mini where user logged out with his Apple ID

Hi, old user logged out his Apple ID from work Mac Mini, he did it on his iPhone.
Now he isn't logged in on Mac mini with his Apple ID, but Mac Mini saved his account (Apple ID) in SystemPreferences.
Mac asks for a password to remove user Apple ID, but old user doesn't see Mac Mini in his iCloud in devices.
How to fully remove old Apple ID & log in with new Apple ID?

He will need to once more add the Mac Mini to his devices that are listed for his Apple ID. Once he's done that he then can remove the Mac Mini from his Apple ID and this time do it the right way.

How to do it in the right way? he ll log in with his AppleID on mac, after that Should he remove Mac in his Apple ID / iCloud account in devices or is it better to push button "Log out" on mac in SystemPreferences?

He does not need to log out of iCloud in order to remove a device. He can do that while logged in. The problem he ran into is because he logged out with his Apple ID. You do not need to log out of iCloud to remove a device.

That's why he now should add the device to his Apple ID once more and then after doing that, remove it from iCloud while he is still signed in. That will remove it from his account.

I have done that several times with Macs, and iPhones.

You should try the steps in Apple’s Support document What to do before you sell, give away your Mac.

Plus do the previous users store personal information at the server on on it’s personal work computer? The answer changes greatly if you store it locally!
